Edgevana Joins Infrastructure Masons Climate Accord Along With 70+ Technology and Business Leaders

Environmentally focused companies will work together to help reduce carbon in digital infrastructure materials, products, and power

Las Vegas, Nevada April 25, 2022- Edgevana, a leader in powering the decentralized web, today announced that the company has joined the Infrastructure Masons (iMasons) Climate Accord (ICA). The accord is spearheaded by iMasons, a non-profit, professional association of technology and business leaders who represent over $150Bn in infrastructure projects in over 130 countries. The organization is guided by an Advisory Council composed of global leaders who manage some of the largest digital infrastructure portfolios in the world. The iMasons vision is to Unite the Builders of the Digital Age by enabling the global membership to Connect, Grow, and Give Back.

“Climate change is an issue that companies both large and small across all areas of technology and business need to be addressing now,” said Mark Thiele, Co-Founder & CEO of Edgevana. “Part of our mission is to focus on sustainable business practices and we are proud to be alongside some of the world’s most influential organizations as we work on finding a clear path to carbon neutrality.”

The ICA has four strategic industry priorities – increase Awareness, enhance Education opportunities, champion Diversity & Inclusion, and inspire Sustainability through deep member engagement. Members represent some of the largest digital infrastructure portfolios in the world, and over 40 colocation data center providers, product, service and investment firms that fund, build and operate the foundation and drive the supply chain.

“In 2021, the digital Infrastructure included 7 million data centers worldwide representing 105GW of power capacity consuming 594TWhs of energy. This equates to 2.4% of global energy consumption,” said Dean Nelson, Chairman and Founder of Infrastructure Masons. “It is essential to have industry adoption of an open standard to report carbon in data center materials and products, carbon intensity in power consumption, and a maturity model to report participant progress. The iMasons aim to help create this standard so that it can be adopted globally.”

Collaboration is key to compounding the results from the commitments of each of the ICA companies and ensuring the sum is greater than the parts. Visit imasons.org/climateaccord to learn more or to join the iMasons Climate Accord.
